Answer first: Give Grok Bot a target keyword and 5–10 URLs that rank for it. It reads each page, maps the subtopics and questions they cover, finds the gaps, and drafts an outline and then an article that includes your experience and examples. It saves the draft as a Markdown or .docx file on its computer. You edit it and publish it yourself.

Test status: fetching public pages and generating files on the box both work (checked 2026-10-16). Pulling a live Google top-10 automatically was not tested. Search-result pages often block automated reads, so this recipe has you paste the URLs.

Who it's for

Bloggers, content marketers and founders writing their own help or blog content.

Steps

  1. Search your keyword yourself and copy the top 5–10 organic URLs, skipping ads.
  2. Write 3–5 bullets of first-hand material: a number, a mistake you made, a screenshot description, a customer quote you're allowed to use.
  3. Paste the prompt. Review the outline before asking for the full draft.

Copy-paste prompt

Keyword: "<KEYWORD>". Read these ranking pages: <URL1> ... <URL8>.
1) Table: URL, word count (approx), H2s, questions answered, unique angle.
2) List subtopics most pages cover, and gaps none cover well.
3) Propose an outline that covers the common ground + gaps, with my first-hand points: <BULLETS>.
Wait for my OK, then write ~1,500 words in plain English, no copied sentences, and save as seo-<slug>.md.
Flag any page you couldn't open.

Expected result

A competitor table, a gap list, an outline to approve, then a draft file.

Gotchas

  • Ask it to flag pages it couldn't open. Some sites block automated reads.
  • First-hand detail is what makes the article different. Without it you get an average of the top 10.
  • It drafts but doesn't publish. Publishing on your CMS is your step.
