Answer first: Use Grok Bot's built-in public X reads for three marketing jobs. First, a weekly "what's working" scan of top posts in your niche. Second, reply drafts for posts that mention you, which you edit and post yourself. Third, a mention tracker scheduled as a routine. It reads X. It doesn't post, like or reply for you.

Test status: public X search was tested on 2026-10-16 (a relevancy-sorted search returned 10 posts with links and like/reply/impression counts). Posting is out of scope because the built-in X tools only read. The weekly routine was not run.

Who it's for

Solo marketers, founders doing their own social media, and small content teams.

Steps

  1. Inspiration scan: search your niche sorted by relevancy and ask for the top posts with their engagement numbers and why they worked (the hook, the format, the timing).
  2. Reply ideas: search for posts that mention your brand or category and have it suggest 2 reply angles per post. You post the ones you like.
  3. Tracking: schedule the scan weekly. Mention monitoring is covered in Monitor X Posts.

Copy-paste prompt

Every Monday at 9:00 AM: search public X (relevancy, 25 results) for "<NICHE KEYWORDS>" -is:retweet lang:en from the last 7 days.
Pick the 8 posts with the most engagement. For each: link, likes/replies/impressions, the hook in one line, format (thread/image/video/text), why it likely worked.
Then give me 5 post ideas for my brand <BRAND, 1-line description> using those patterns.
Also find posts mentioning "<BRAND>" and suggest 2 reply angles each. I'll post myself.

Expected result

A weekly brief: 8 example posts with numbers, 5 ideas, and reply angles for mentions.

Gotchas

  • Engagement numbers are a snapshot taken at search time.
  • One search returns at most 25 posts. Run separate searches for each keyword cluster.
  • Limits: 30 X reads per minute, 1,000 per day.
  • Copying a viral post's wording is not the goal. Ask for the pattern.

FAQ

Can it schedule posts to X? Not with the built-in X tools, which only read.
